  1. Fantasy Flight, who just picked up Star Wars, uses a d100 system, which works really well too. You’ll need to pick up Rogue Trader/Deathwatch/etc. to get the rules. But If you’re looking for something that’s heavy on the fighting, and realism, this is a good system to use.

  2. I couldn’t stop giggling every time you tried to pronounce my name. 🙂

I agree with almost all your recommendations. Not about using World of Darkness system. I quite dislike that system because I find very difficult to work out the possibilities of success for any particular skill level. I have the odd feeling that, the higher the skill, the more possible is to fail in a roll.

I would also like to suggest Unisystem (of AFMBE fame) as a generic system. I know it was developed for survival horror genre, but I find it quite simple, intuitive and flexible. Plus, AFMBE supplements (like Dungeons & Zombies, Enter the Zombie, etc) can be used as plug-ins to better adapt the system to other genres. It is not GURPS, but useful nonetheless.

    Just my two cents. 🙂
